At the Portland Museum of Art I led a discussion, based on the piece “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” (Shakespeare and Mendelssohn) with middle school students from Breakwater School. I researched Tim Rollin’s and Kids of Survival, (K.O.S.), and received feedback from PMA docents to prepare for the discussion. I introduced the work to the students by playing a clip of Mendelssohn’s “Mid Summer Night’s Dream” while they viewed the piece. The students responded to the music and related to Shakespeare’s “Mid Summer Night’s Dream”, because a few had previously preformed it.
